Jennifer Lopez
Named Most Beautiful |
While
Angelina Jolie tops People's most
beautiful issue, Jennifer Lopez
graces the cover of the magazine's
Spanish-language version.
Lopez is on the cover of People En
Espanol's annual "50 Most Beautiful"
issue, on newsstands Monday.
"I've never tried to hide the fact
that I'm Latina," the Bronx-native
tells the magazine. "I think that's
why Hispanics are like 'she's ours
... she belongs to us.' And that's
true; with the Latino community, I
am theirs, I do belong to them."
The 37-year-old actress-singer was
also named one of People's 100 most
beautiful people. While many fans
await the birth of Jolie's child
with boyfriend Brad Pitt, Lopez
isn't currently planning a baby with
husband Marc Anthony.
"That would be nice for sure," she
says. "I feel that will happen
naturally when it does."
People En Espanol's unranked list of
Hispanic celebrities also includes
Eva Longoria, Ricky Martin, Shakira,
Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes and Daddy
Yankee.

Jennifer Lopez
Sought More 'Peace And Goodness' After Affleck
Split |
Singer/actress Jennifer Lopez claims
her break-up with former fiance Ben
Affleck forced her to seek more
peace and goodness in her life.
The couple had a tumultuous
relationship that played out in the
public eye and were a favourite
target of the tabloid press who
dubbed the couple Bennifer.
She explains, "I honestly have to
say that my own trials and
tribulations were really hard,
especially living in the public eye.
"That experience made me seek more
peace, more truth, more honesty,
more goodness in my life. It has
made me want more."
The I'm Real singer claims the
failed relationship allowed her to
gain perspective and has led her to
a better place than she might have
been in if the two stayed together.
She adds, "If it wasn't for that
experience, who knows what I would
have done, who I would have been -
hopefully still a nice person, but
maybe not in as good a place as I am
now."

Jennifer Lopez
Insists She Is Misunderstood |
Jennifer
Lopez has complained that she is
misunderstood.
The singer and actress insists that
her critics are "mixed up" and that
she is not driven by making money.
"I think some people see me
laughing, having a good time and
think, 'Oh, she's so ambitious and
everything,' but the thing is that
I'm just a creative person," she
told People magazine.
"I think people believe I'm driven
by the money things and all that
stuff. They get it so mixed up that
they forget that I started doing it
because I love to perform."

Writer Sues
J.Lo For Allegedly Stealing His Idea |
Jack
Bunick says Lopez and UPN stole his
idea for a series based on his move
from Brooklyn to Miami and
involvement in Miami's modeling and
nightclub scenes. He says "South
Beach" mirrors a script he wrote in
1999 for a pilot episode of a show
that would have been called "South
Beach Miami."
Bunick says his agent spoke to a UPN
executive and sent a copy of his
script to her in February 2000. But,
he says he never heard back from the
network.
The lawsuit also names CBS TV,
Viacom Networks and Lopez's
production company.

anything could happen at this
point."

And John Travolta To Star In 'Dallas' |
Gurinder
Chadha will direct John Travolta and
Jennifer Lopez in a big-screen
version of the prime-time soap opera
"Dallas."
The British filmmaker, who directed
2002's "Bend it Like Beckham," said
Friday she had signed a deal with
20th Century Fox. Travolta will star
as the conniving Texas oil baron J.R.
Ewing and Lopez will play his wife,
Sue Ellen.
Filming is set to begin in October,
with the movie slated for a late
2007 release.
"Dallas" aired from 1978 to 1991. In
1980, an estimated 83 million TV
viewers tuned in to find out who
shot J.R., played by Larry Hagman,
who had been blasted within an inch
of his life in the previous season's
cliffhanger finale. (The shooter
turned out to be Ewing's
sister-in-law Kristin.)
Chadha, who gave Jane Austen a
Bollywood twist in "Bride &
Prejudice," is also involved in
adapting another TV hit, the '60s
sitcom "I Dream of Jeannie." She
said that film "is still in the
pipeline, but there is still some
way to go on the script."

Jennifer Lopez
Sues Ex-Husband Noa |
Jennifer
Lopez is suing her ex-husband,
claiming he demanded $5 million to
keep him from publishing a book
containing private details about the
star and their relationship.
In the lawsuit filed Monday in Los
Angeles Superior Court, Lopez
alleged that Ojani Noa violated a
confidentiality agreement by
distributing the manuscript of his
book to publishers, the syndicated
television show "The Insider"
reported. She is seeking a
restraining order to keep the
manuscript from becoming public.
A description of the manuscript
appeared Jan. 11 in the New York
Post. Lopez's lawyers contacted
Noa's attorney, and Noa replied in a
letter that he would continue to
shop his book, the lawsuit said.
In another letter, Noa said "that he
would not agree to refrain from
marketing his book unless (Lopez)
paid him the sum of $5 million,"
according to the lawsuit.
Noa's attorney, David DeRubertis,
did not immediately respond to a
call and e-mail message after
business hours.
The confidentiality agreement
stemmed from a settlement in
October, when Noa dropped his
lawsuit claiming Lopez fired him as
manager of her Pasadena restaurant
without cause. Ojani agreed not to
disparage Lopez or make money off
disclosure of details of their
relationship, the lawsuit said.
Lopez met Noa while he worked as a
waiter at a Miami restaurant. The
two married in 1997 and divorced a
year later. Her second marriage to
choreographer Cris Judd in 2001
lasted for nine months. In 2004, she
tied the knot with singer Marc
Anthony.

Jennifer Lopez
May Adopt A Puerto Rican Baby |
The
Latin beauty, who is married to
singer Marc Anthony, is desperate
for a child of her own but is
reportedly thinking about adopting
one if she can't conceive.
The star is said to have been trying
to get pregnant for two years.
A source revealed to Britain's
Grazia magazine: "Her relationship
with Marc has deepened through this.
He tells her they'll deal with what
happens when it happens.
"When people talk about her diva
days, Jennifer laughs. She used to
like immaculate white rooms with
white sheets. Now she wants some
grubby little handprints from her
baby."
Earlier this week, it was revealed
Jennifer has started eating spinach
to make herself more fertile.
On her doctor's recommendations,
J.Lo has been eating the leafy
vegetable three times a day to boost
her intake of folic acid and
increase her chances of conception.
She said: "Since my doctor
recommended it I've been on spinach
omelettes for breakfast, spinach
salad for lunch and sautéed spinach
with every dinner."
She added: "I guess if the spinach
doesn't help me conceive, I'll still
end up with Popeye-sized muscles."
