myself having any. But I'm not at
that point yet, so I don't know."

Lopez Makes
Donor Plea |
|
Generous
superstar Jennifer Lopez is urging
New Yorkers of Hispanic descent to
donate bone marrow in a bid to save
the life of a young Latina suffering
from blood cancer.
The Maid
in Manhattan actress is desperate to
save 29-year-old Janet Ovalles, and
is harnessing her celebrity power to
inspire potential donors.
A transplant is Ovalles' only chance
of survival, according to concerned
doctors at bone marrow donor center
DKMS.
She says, "I am a young Hispanic
woman, so is Janet. I could
empathize with her situation so
much."
DKMS spokeswoman Katharina Harf
says, "It's been very hard to
recruit Hispanic bone marrow donors,
but with Jennifer's help we really
feel we can get the Hispanic
community on board."
Ovalles is delighted by Lopez's
concern, but insists only a matching
donor has the power to save her: "I
am a walking time bomb. If I don't
find a donor, I will die."

Jennifer Lopez
Refuses To Stop Making Music |
Jennifer
Lopez has refused to give up making
music.
The 'Jenny From The Block' singer
says could never give up singing
because she feels she has more
control over that than her movies.
She told Britain's OK! Magazine: "I
think it's really special when the
music hits because it's so personal.
"Everything is so intimate about
making a record. There's not a lot
of people involved - that's really
me, I really get to control all the
decisions."
"I get to decide what I record, I
get to do it all."
However the 'Monster-In-Law' actress
says she couldn't stop making movies
either.
She said: "I could never choose
between them. They are both very
creative in a different way.
"I really need both outlets, for
some reason.
"I could never imagine myself just
giving one up."

Are Jennifer
Lopez And Marc Anthony Expecting Baby Girl? |
"Is J.
Lo having a baby girl?" asks
Jeannette Walls of the Scoop. Our
favorite in-the-know gal dishes that
a source tells The Scoop that the
diva had an exclusive Los Angeles
baby goods store closed down in
January for about three quarters of
an hour and "she went on a shopping
spree, buying things for an infant
girl."
J-Lo's spokeswoman has denied these
and other baby rumors.
The Scoop dishes: 'Explains the
insider: “She had Petit Tresor [an
upscale baby-goods store reportedly
favored by celebs such as Britney
Spears and Katie Holmes] closed down
for a while, and she came with some
woman, maybe a relative or an
assistant, entered through a back
entrance, and bought thousands of
dollars worth of things for a baby
girl.”
A rep for the story Told the Scoop,
“We cannot confirm or deny that
report.” Lopez’s spokeswoman, when
asked about the alleged shopping
spree, replied simply, “She’s not
pregnant.”
That, however, is not stopping the
operators of a web site devoted to
naming the supposedly forthcoming
tyke. A rep for NameJLosBaby.com

Lopez Shuts
Down Film Production For Wedding |
Actress
JENNIFER LOPEZ ordered all
production be shut down on her movie
EL CANTANTE, after realising the
filming was disrupting a wedding
being held next door.
The actress was filming with husband
MARC ANTHONY in San Juan, Puerto
Rico, when they learned movie trucks
and crowds were blocking a hotel
next door that was hosting a
wedding.
Bride JULIANA ROSALES spent a year
planning her nuptials to DENNIS
GONZALEZ, and was incensed when a
film staffer asked her to stop
taking pictures at her own
reception.
When the celebrity couple heard
about the disruption they had
caused, they immediately halted
production and met with the duo to
apologise, even agreeing to pose for
pictures with the newlyweds.
Rosales says, "Everyone apologised.
I'm happy. I have a story to tell my
kids."
At one point, Rosales' furious
mother threatened to bring shooting
to a standstill by standing on a
street corner and screaming until
the cast and crew made way for her
daughter.

J.Lo Designer
Duds Are Smash At Auction |
Who's
got the power? Jennifer or Jessica?
When the massive 7th on Sale eBay
auction of designer-donated clothing
ended last month, Jennifer Lopez was
the clear favorite.
Two of her dresses sold for about
$6,900. Lopez drew 50 bids and
almost $3,700 for the Dolce &
Gabbana dress she wore to the 7th on
Sale gala in New York in November,
and the best-known gown -- the
revealing jungle-print Versace that
Lopez wore to the 2000 Grammy Awards
-- was a bargain at just over
$3,200.
Jessica Simpson was not far behind,
and the Donna Karan Collection gown
she sported at the annual VH1
''Divas'' concert in Las Vegas
actually sold for more than anything
Lopez had worn.
It attracted 32 bids and went for
more than $4,400.
The celebrity dresses and 6,000
other garments were put up for
auction starting in November as part
of the industrywide effort to raise
money for HIV/AIDS charities.
The event was sponsored by the
Council of Fashion Designers of
America. More than 167 million
buyers participated, according to
the Kaplow Public Relations firm,
which handled promotion.
These celebrity results arrive as
the fashion industry is starting to
question the impact of star power.
It appears to be making a subtle and
slight shift from celebrities back
to professional models as
promotional tools.
The French-based conglomerate Louis
Vuitton just hired Giselle Bundchen,
the Brazilian catwalk star, to
replace actress Uma Thurman in its
advertising campaign. And despite a
bout with drugs, Kate Moss is going
full force with bookings after rehab.
