And Ex-Husband To Be Dance Rivals |
|
JENNIFER
LOPEZ and ex-husband CRIS JUDD will
go head-to-head when they both
launch television dancing shows
later this year (06). Lopez is
working with MTV on her reality
series MOVES, where she will select
and audition dancers, as well as act
as an executive producer. The I'M
REAL hitmaker will use her dance
training and experience to assist
aspiring dancers in their careers in
the fly-on-the-wall show. Meanwhile,
former dancer and choreographer Judd
will host DIRTY DANCING: LIVING THE
DREAM, a small-screen version of the
1987 PATRICK SWAYZE and JENNIFER
GREY movie with a reality TV twist.
The series will pair novice female
dancers with experienced
professionals who will train and
compete for a featured role in the
national cast of the upcoming DIRTY
DANCING musical. Judd's series will
air on US cable network Women's
Entertainment (WE).

Cool J Lawsuit Dismissed |
|
JENNIFER
LOPEZ and rapper LL COOL J were
celebrating on Wednesday (24MAY06)
when a lawsuit filed against them
was thrown out of a California
court. An appeals court judge
dismissed a case filed in 2003 by
singer DEBRA LAWS, claiming the
stars misappropriated her 1981 song
VERY SPECIAL in their 2002 duet ALL
I HAVE. The court decided Laws did
not have a case against the artists
or Sony Music since Sony had
properly obtained a licence to use a
10-second segment of the song. The
judge advised Laws that she should
instead sue her record label and
publisher for breach of contract for
entering a licence agreement without
her authorisation.

MTV "Moves"
With Jennifer Lopez Reality Series |
Jennifer
Lopez is bringing her "Moves" to
MTV, which has given the green light
to her reality series revolving
around the lives of dancers working
to make it in the business.
Lopez is executive producing "Moves"
with Simon Fields, a partner in her
production company, Nuyorican. She
also played an integral role in
selecting and auditioning the
dancers, and will make cameo
appearances throughout the season.
Six dancers were chosen for the
eight-episode series, which is
scheduled to premiere in the fourth
quarter. "Moves" will follow the
dancers and tell their
interconnected stories as they work
to achieve their dreams, showcasing
such aspects as their struggle to
pay rent to the excitement of
dancing for 30,000 screaming fans.
Said Lopez, a former "Fly Girl"
dancer on Fox's early '90s
sketch-comedy series "In Living
Color": "I started out as a dancer,
and I know what that world is. These
dancers have dedicated their lives
to this, and honestly, the glory is
not always there. It's something
they do only out of love. It's a
tough life, and I want to show that
struggle."

Three Months Pregnant? |
Jennifer
Lopez is rumoured to be three months
pregnant with her first baby.
The Latin beauty - who has made no
secret of her desire to have
children with husband Marc Anthony -
is due to give birth around
Christmas, a source told America's
In Touch magazine.
The 'Monster-In-Law' actress sparked
pregnancy rumours when she was
spotted sporting an apparent baby
bump and grey roots at the ALMA
awards in Los Angeles earlier this
month.
During the event Anthony spoke
publicly of having a baby, saying:
"I'm looking forward to starting a
family."
The following day, the beautiful
singer fuelled speculation by
cancelling her upcoming tour.
It's been reported Jennifer, who is
due to turn 37 in June, could face
legal action after pulling out of
her scheduled gigs in several
countries.
Bulgarian promoter Nina Girginova
has said: "Whatever the reason is,
she should have explained it, and
even if she had lied it would have
been better than not giving the fans
any reason at all."

expecting her first child with
husband MARC ANTHONY, according to
media reports in the US. Lopez
appeared at the ALMA Awards in Los
Angeles on 7 May (06), sporting what
appeared to be a small bump and
telltale grey roots. The following
day (08MAY06), the star abruptly
cancelled her first concert tour
without giving an explanation,
further fuelling rumours of a
pregnancy. Sources tell US
publication In Touch the LOVE DON'T
COST A THING star is three months
pregnant and that the baby will be
born around Christmas (06). Anthony
spoke publicly of having a baby with
Lopez at the event saying, "I'm
looking forward to starting a
family." Lopez was scheduled to tour
this month (MAY06), with dates in
Mumbai (Bombay), India; Dubai;
Moscow, Russia: Sofia, Bulgaria;

Faces Legal Action After Cancelling Tour |
|
Superstar JENNIFER LOPEZ is facing
possible legal action after
cancelling her European and Asian
mini-tour. The LOVE DON'T COST A
THING singer was set to perform on
her first ever tour this month
(MAY06), with dates in Mumbai
(Bombay), India; Dubai; Moscow,
Russia: Sofia, Bulgaria; Istanbul,
Turkey; and Thessaloniki, Greece.
However, she has postponed her
concerts without giving a reason. A
statement given to the New India
Press reads, "Jennifer Lopez has
decided to postpone her entire
spring world tour including all of
the shows she was to perform in
Athens, Baku, Mumbai, Dubai, Moscow,
Sofia and Thessaloniki in May 2006."
Bulgaria promoters Pick and More
tell the Sofia News Agency they are
teaming up with the rest of the
promoters to sue Lopez, to retrieve
the fees they paid her for the 23
July (06) concert. NINA GIRGINOVA,
Project Manager at Pick and More,
says, "Whatever the reason is, she
should have explained it, and even
if she had lied it would have been
better than not giving the fans any
reason at all." Tour promoters have
promised full refunds to ticket
holders.

To Auction Clothing For Charity |
Jennifer
Lopez fans will get a chance to try
on the star's clothes _ if they are
the highest bidders in an online
charity auction.
The seven items up for sale include
a brown poncho, a blue satin gown
and jeans with Lopez's signature.
Lopez wore them all the items at
different times last year.
The auction will be conducted
through Overstock.com Auctions May
16-23. Proceeds will go to the
Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
This will be the second year Lopez
has done an online clothing
beneficiary for the hospital.

Reunite At Time Inc. Gala |
It was
quite a night in New York last
night. Time Inc.’s staggering
celebration of its 100 most
influential people triggered a
reunion of Jennifer Lopez and her
ex, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. They
pretty much haven’t been seen
together since they ran 11 red
lights after a nightclub shootout in
1999.
Lopez, looking serene and beautiful,
was accompanied by her music star
husband, Marc Anthony, of course.
The pair chatted a lot of with New
York Police Commish Ray Kelly and
his lovely wife, Vanessa, until
Diddy wandered up and said hello. It
was a short visit, but everyone
shook hands.
"That was something," I said
nervously.
"That was nothing," Lopez said. "We
see him all the time." Anthony shook
his head in accord.

To Perform In Mumbai On May 21 |
|
Renowned
pop singer Jennifer Lopez would
perform in Mumbai on May 21, as part
of the first anniversary
celebrations of Kingfisher Airlines.
This will be the first time that
Lopez would perform in India, an
airline release said on wednesday.
Kingfisher Chairman and CEO Vijay
Mallya said within a year since it
launched its operations, the airline
has bagged a market share of 8.7 per
cent and carried over a million
passengers. Kingfisher is currently
the only domestic carrier providing
in-flight entertainment. Commenting
on the recent launch of Kingfisher
First class service, Mallya said,
"It is only fitting that an icon
like Jennifer Lopez, be part of the
anniversary celebrations of
Kingfisher Airlines. I am delighted
that thousands of her fans will be
able to see their legend perform in
person". The low-fare airline has
also announced a series of special
offers for passengers flying the
airline during May.

Love With Marc Anthony's Humour |
Jennifer
Lopez has revealed that she really
bonded with husband Marc Anthony
because he makes her laugh.
The actress and singer explained to
People: "The thing with me and Marc…
whenever the two of us got in a room
together, neither one of us could
stop laughing. He comes off as a
very serious artist because he is;
he's blessed and has a tremendous
gift. But because he's so serious –
people don't realize because he
doesn't give a lot of interviews –
he's one of the funniest people
you'll ever meet."
She also said that the pair shared
an instant connection due to their
common roots: "Both of us being from
New York, both being Puerto Rican,
was obviously something that
connected us from the beginning."
When asked about the possibility of
having children in the future she
responded, "Yeah, that would be
nice. That would be nice for sure. I
feel that will happen naturally when
it does."
The private, almost reclusive nature
of Lopez's current marriage
contrasts starkly with the media
circus that surrounded her previous
engagement to movie star Ben
Affleck, and marriage to backing
dancer Chris Judd.

Actress/singer JENNIFER LOPEZ has
sacked her agents at top Hollywood
firm International Creative
Management (ICM) in an attempt to
boost her film career. The actress
left ICM for the third time on
Friday (28APR06), after reportedly
being unhappy with the movie
projects she had been cast in. A
source tells PageSix.com, "(Former
agent) ED LIMATO didn't do anything
for her in over a year. He got her
into DALLAS - a TV remake that will
probably flop. "She is doing
Oscar-winning work in BORDERTOWN.
She should not be doing Dallas."
Lopez has signed with the William
Morris Agency, who will look after
both her film and music careers.
