Nov 24, 2005 -  Jennifer Lopez Has A Coat Made From 80 Murdered Chinchillas
Jennifer Lopez has a coat made from 80 murdered chinchillas, according to Natalie Imbruglia.

The brunette singer claims unlike J.Lo, who was recently targeted by PETA for wearing fur, she would never wear animal skins - because they suffered grisly deaths.

The star also believes Jennifer's fur-wearing obsession makes her look like an old woman.

She revealed to Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine: "It can take up to 100 chinchillas to make one coat and Jennifer Lopez has one made of 80 of them, all killed by electrocution or having their necks snapped.

"China, where most fur comes from, has no regulations for animal welfare.

Dogs, cats and other animals are skinned alive and die slow, extremely painful deaths.

"Besides, wearing fur makes you look like an old woman!"

Nov 15, 2005 -  Anderson Slams Fur Loving J.Lo And Diddy
PAMELA ANDERSON has slammed JENNIFER LOPEZ's and SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS' for continuing to wear fur.

The former BAYWATCH beauty, who is an outspoken supporter of animal rights activists People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), claims fur manufacturers are lavishing pelts on "clueless celebrities" in a bid to promote a comeback.

She says, "It amazes me that some designers still turn animals into fashion victims.

"They're desperate for a fur 'comeback' so they throw their pelts at any clueless celebrity, like Diddy or J.Lo, who'll wear whatever is free.

"I've written to them all to say that these animals are dying in agony - all for a tacky coat that makes you look like Bigfoot.

"Seriously, a fur coat just adds 20 years and 20 pounds to you, and if you get rained on you smell like a wet dog."

Nov 14, 2005 -  J.Lo And Scarlett Back Celebrity Dress Auction
Let the bidding begin! Red carpet gowns worn by a host of celebrities have gone up for sale on the internet and Jennifer Lopez was the first to donate a frock to the charity auction. The Latin diva made the generous gesture at a fundraising gala for Aids sufferers, which was also attended by Hollywood golden girl Scarlett Johansson.

J Lo arrived arm-in-arm with fashion maestros Dolce and Gabbana in one of their exclusive designs - and promptly declared it for auction. She was the picture of lady-like elegance in the calf-length lacy dress, teamed with a pair of killer heels. Meanwhile Scarlett had selected a sequinned flesh-coloured gown.

The 7th On Sale Online party kicked off a month of bidding on eBay, when fashion devotees will be able to snap up thousands of exclusive treats. Everything from luxury holidays to handbags, fragrance bottles and shoes are up for grabs.

It's the second time in as many days that Jennifer Lopez has stepped out for a good cause. She recently attended a UN anti-poverty to honour "the unsung heroes" of the developing world. On that occasion, her voice quaking with emotion, Jennifer presented an award to an Afghan woman, who survived an abusive marriage to set up a successful tailoring business.

Nov 10, 2005 -  Jennifer Lopez Helps To Honor Poverty Fighters
Jennifer Lopez, former first daughter Chelsea Clinton and broadcasting legend Walter Cronkite were among the celebrity presenters on hand at the United Nations Tuesday to honor nine winners of The Global Microentrepreneurship Awards.

The nine poor and low-income winners — from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Liberia, South Africa, India, China, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Peru — used small loans to establish successful businesses.

Among the nine "unsung heroes of poverty eradication" was Mama Fatu, a 70-year-old widow from Sierra Leone who took out a $25 microcredit loan in 1998 to start grinding tobacco to produce snuff. She diversified into vegetable production, rice farming and brewing local gin.

"I am illiterate," the elderly woman in a traditional African blue dress said, clutching her glass-engraved award. "I don't know how to go through immigration procedures, but today I am in New York."

As a result of the war in Sierra Leone, she said she was poor and almost homeless "but life came back because of microcredit," which enabled her to earn money to send her son to college and build a house.

Actor-director Tim Robbins served as the master of ceremonies, while other awards presenters included British entrepreneur Richard Branson and Rory Kennedy, daughter of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.

Nov 09, 2005 -  Lopez's Husband Dumps Mottola's Management
Latin star MARC ANTHONY has axed the manager who launched his wife JENNIFER LOPEZ' career - in favour of his brother.

TOMMY MOTTOLA, the former head of Sony music and ex-husband of MARIAH CAREY, masterminded Lopez' rise to fame and hoped his close links with Anthony would lead to him working with her again.

But Anthony has rehired his brother BIGRAM ZAYAS as manager, renewing the partnership they enjoyed before Mottola.

A source tells gossip website PageSix.com, "Marc missed (his brother) so much and he doesn't trust anyone else."

Nov 09, 2005 -  Lopez Wishes She Could Tour
JENNIFER LOPEZ has one ambition left for her successful music career - to have the time to tour her music.

As Lopez combines her recording career with a successful second life as a movie star - as well as side projects involving fashion and cosmetics - Lopez never has the time to go on the road and take her music to the masses.

She laments, "Because of my movie career I haven't toured much. I haven't really had the pleasure of really performing for my fans and touring and stuff like that."

Nov 09, 2005 -  J.Lo Joins Forces With Tim At U.N. Anti-Poverty Gala
It's not Jennifer Lopez' usual style to take a back seat in public, but the Latin diva was happy to do so at a recent UN anti-poverty gala. Accompanied by husband Marc Anthony, J Lo attended a celeb-studded ceremony, hosted by her friend Tim Robbins, to pay tribute to developing-world entrepreneurs.

Looking relaxed and happy in a flattering backless frock, Jennifer mingled with guests, including millionaire businessman Richard Branson and Chelsea Clinton at the event which honoured the "unsung heroes" of poverty eradication.

She has known Oscar-winner Tim since starring with his partner Susan Sarandon in Shall We Dance, and their children are said to be very fond of her. While Susan and Tim are well-known in Hollywood for their support of worthy causes, J Lo has not been a high-profile campaigner until now.

If her latest movie choice is anything to go by though, the actress may be becoming increasingly socially aware. She recently lensed Bordertown, a movie with a message which focuses on the largely unsolved killings of women in the Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez.

Perhaps the biggest applause on the night, however, came for an elderly African woman who travelled from her home in Sierra Leone to accept her UN honour. Mama Fatu, a 70-year-old victim of the war in the country, rebuilt her life with a $25 loan. "I am illiterate," she said, clutching her glass-engraved award. "I don't know how to go through immigration procedures, but today I am in New York."
